Sophie Harasha is a Seattle and San Diego-based filmmaker who specializes in producing, camerawork, and directing. Passionate about storytelling and film, she seeks to tell stories that are personal to her and connect with others. She is a rising junior at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts majoring in film production. At NYU, she is the film chair of the All Asian Arts Alliance, a member of Delta Kappa Alpha’s Cinematic Society, and plays for the NYU women’s lacrosse team. As a filmmaker, she’s had films premiere at festivals such as NFFTY, Seattle International Film Festival, and Newport Beach Film Festival. She is interning at San Diego’s Pacific Arts Movement and edits for That Desi Spark. Additionally, she just finished producing a feature-length film, Cuttlefish, which was shot in Cleveland, Ohio. Her goal as an artist is to create empathy and connection through understanding others, and she believes film is the perfect medium to do so.
